Properly Managed was born out of frustration with the current poor service offered to landlords and tenants alike by today's property management industry. Acting more like rent collection agencies than filling the needs of investors, many property management services leave in their wake a trail of “burnt” investors and devalued tenants.
The founders, Gavin and Carol Cullen, who are involved in residential real estate investments in Australia, New Zealand and the U.S., experienced firsthand the incompetence of poorly trained property managers. Such was the level of frustration, they undertook the management of their own properties, and then began a rigorous search for competent property managers to do the job. In geographical areas where they could not locate good quality property managers, they reluctantly sold off their perfectly good appreciating and mostly cash flow positive properties.
When their high level of passion for real estate combined with their frustrations with property management “professionals”, it was only a matter of time before this “industry best” property management system was born. They have taken property management out of the shadows of real estate sales offices and given it the respect it deserves.
